Lido's Story:

We live in northern Colorado and two weeks ago my husband, Lido and I were forced to evacuate our home due to flooding. We spent 5 days in hotels and friends' houses. Luckily our house was not damaged during this time but poor Lido was extremely stressed out during the whole ordeal. He couldn't pee or poo for days. I stayed up with him all night on Saturday trying to ease his discomfort. On Sunday morning I finally took him to the only available emergency pet hospital where he spent the night. They had a hard time cathaterizing him and getting him stable. On Monday we moved him to the family vets' where he stayed another 5 days recovering. We opted against an invasive surgery but our bills were still very high considering emergency charges and all the boarding he needed.

Now Lido is home, recovering slowly from his trauma. Our vet has him on medication to help heal his bladder muscles and he is getting better each day. My husband has also lost his job and is currently looking for another so our money is very tight. I paid what I could from our savings but we don't have credit cards right now because we are paying off all our debt. Anything you could spare will help. We have paid over half the bill on our own already but it really cleaned out my savings completely. Thanks and God Bless.

All Chances complete 30 days after they are first Submitted for Verification by the Pet Owner. The reason they end at all is because credit card refunds must be issued if the funds cannot be raised and, therefore, the treament will not be provided.

So, if a Chance will not be fulfilled by a doctor/provider within 30 days, the money must be refunded to the people who made donations.

Shortly before the Chance completion date Pet Chance will try to work with the doctor/provider to see if the treatment can be fulfilled with partial funding.

Our goal is to fullfil as many Chances as possible!

We call it Pet Care Assurance...

At Pet Chance, our goal is to empower pet owners to make the right decisions for their pets. By funding Chances where owners have already incurred debt we are giving the next owner facing that daunting decision confidence to provide their pet with the care it needs.

The more Chances where treatment was already provided to get funded, the more likely it is owners (and vets) will make the right medical decision first, and handle the financial obligation after the fact.
