You tried to Submit a Chance for Verification but it did not work. Please contact Pet Chance for some help. Sorry about that!
Bandit is a very sweet 12 year old husky mix. I say he rescued me because I adopted him when he was a little over 1 year old, and he has been with me through many moves, sad times, happy times, and heartaches. I don't remember what life was like before he came to live with me. Last summer, he started having accidents inside the house, which is very unlike him. At first, I was just told it was behavioral, but I know him and I just couldn't accept that. I got a second opinion and he was then diagnosed with Cushing's disease. Unfortunately, the treatment for it is quite expensive. He can go on medication, but it's ~$190 a month. And, then he has to have tests periodically to make sure it's working. While I could go through insurance, everything has to be paid up front and then I would get reimbursed. I can't afford to do that right now. I just want to see his quality of life improve, and this is a way to give him that chance. Thank you for taking the time to help!
[UPDATE 11/30/16 FROM Pet Chance Team]: Thanks to everyone who supported Bandit through this Chance! A new one has been opened for him to support disc disease - please have a look: https://www.petchance.org/chances/2984.
All Chances complete 30 days after they are first Submitted for Verification by the Pet Owner. The reason they end at all is because credit card refunds must be issued if the funds cannot be raised and, therefore, the treament will not be provided.
So, if a Chance will not be fulfilled by a doctor/provider within 30 days, the money must be refunded to the people who made donations.
Shortly before the Chance completion date Pet Chance will try to work with the doctor/provider to see if the treatment can be fulfilled with partial funding.
Our goal is to fullfil as many Chances as possible!
We call it Pet Care Assurance...
At Pet Chance, our goal is to empower pet owners to make the right decisions for their pets. By funding Chances where owners have already incurred debt we are giving the next owner facing that daunting decision confidence to provide their pet with the care it needs.
The more Chances where treatment was already provided to get funded, the more likely it is owners (and vets) will make the right medical decision first, and handle the financial obligation after the fact.
We encourage you to support the work we do to help pets and their owners so we can continue to run www.PetChance.org.
Our world-class customer service and national impact has honored us with Top Nonprofit awards from Great NonProfits. We can only do this thanks to your generous contributions!
