You tried to Submit a Chance for Verification but it did not work. Please contact Pet Chance for some help. Sorry about that!
After getting pyometra surgery one year ago, our vet told us that he noticed small tumors around dear Pumkin's nipples that could be benign. At the time we didn't have the ability to get them removed or tested and we assumed that they would be fine since she had always had those small lumps. However, things turned for the worse a few months afterwards.
Around one nipple in particular, one tumor turned into a tight cluster, expanding gradually over the course of four months. It seemed like it was growing faster each month! It's now so large that the skin is tight and a deep red around it. We were finally able to afford a visit with our vet again last month, but once they told us the price, we unfortunately had to leave--there's no way I'm able to pay that much when we can barely manage to pay rent.
I'm so incredibly grateful that this website exists. There's a chance that my beautiful twelve-year-old Corgi can not be in pain anymore! Even if it's only a few dollars, it's still so much help. I can only say thank you, but it means so much!
Here's a picture of said tumor:
[UPDATE 6/1/15 FROM Taylor L.]: A new veterinarian was selected so we no longer need over $1000 as originally expected. We've moved the Treatment Amount down to just over $700. Pumkin had her appointment at the new hospital. Thanks so much for your support!
All Chances complete 30 days after they are first Submitted for Verification by the Pet Owner. The reason they end at all is because credit card refunds must be issued if the funds cannot be raised and, therefore, the treament will not be provided.
So, if a Chance will not be fulfilled by a doctor/provider within 30 days, the money must be refunded to the people who made donations.
Shortly before the Chance completion date Pet Chance will try to work with the doctor/provider to see if the treatment can be fulfilled with partial funding.
Our goal is to fullfil as many Chances as possible!
We call it Pet Care Assurance...
At Pet Chance, our goal is to empower pet owners to make the right decisions for their pets. By funding Chances where owners have already incurred debt we are giving the next owner facing that daunting decision confidence to provide their pet with the care it needs.
The more Chances where treatment was already provided to get funded, the more likely it is owners (and vets) will make the right medical decision first, and handle the financial obligation after the fact.
We encourage you to support the work we do to help pets and their owners so we can continue to run www.PetChance.org.
Our world-class customer service and national impact has honored us with Top Nonprofit awards from Great NonProfits. We can only do this thanks to your generous contributions!
